Sayde Laine Anderson

With a deep love for the earth and natural materials, I work across disciplines to explore the intersections of fiber art, sustainability, and natural color. I predominantly experiment with plant dyes, organic fibers, and traditional craft techniques such as quilting, and pattern design.

Through my evolving work I hope to cultivate space to think about who we are as nurturers of our relationships and of the land. With a deep love for the earth and natural materials, I work across disciplines to explore the intersections of fiber art, sustainability, and natural color. I predominantly experiment with plant dyes, organic fibers, and traditional craft techniques such as quilting, and pattern design.

My current work in the spheres of art and craft simultaneously—in both the contexts of gallery and home—suggest that the boundaries we draw are hardly ever static, and that art and craft might be understood not only in relation to the places they dwell within but also the space they create. In turn they call us into those places—into relationship, contemplation, reflection, remembering, longing and hope, and hopefully, into action.
