Take In Some Art: Charlotte Russell Contemporary Fine Art Gallery Opens in Cameron Village on Friday, January 8

Charlotte Russell Contemporary Fine Art Gallery has announced the opening of its pop-up art gallery in Cameron Village on Friday, January 8, 2021, but our team was lucky to get a sneak peek! Check out the video below from our visit.

Their hours will be Sunday through Thursday from noon until 5 p.m. and Saturday by appointment only

 

On the horizon 

CRC Gallery’s inaugural exhibition, On the horizon, on view January 8 – March 26, 2021, features artworks by two contemporary female artists: Alexandra Chiou and Grace Clark. The artworks on view discuss terrain, the horizon line, and our connection to nature. Each with their own artistic approach, both female artists discuss art as a means for hope, possibility, and discovery. On the horizon will open on January 8, 2021, from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibit will be on view through March 26, 2021, in CRC Gallery’s pop-up art gallery as well as on CRC Gallery’s online art platform, CharlotteRussellContemporary.com.

 

Curiosities

Curiosities is a solo exhibition of sculptures by Raleigh artist, Kelly Sheppard Murray on view at CRC Gallery, January 8 through March 26, 2021. Featured artworks include Murray’s multimedia sculptural work. For her polymorphic, and multicolored sculptures, she draws inspiration from nature such as the shapes of plants, moss, lichen, fungi, shells and geological forms.

 

About Charlotte Russell Contemporary

Charlotte Miller Russell, owner and curator for CRC Gallery, holds a B.A. in Art History from the University of Virginia. She holds an M.A. in Exhibition and Museum Studies from the San Francisco Art Institute. She is trained in ISA Appraisal Methodology. Charlotte has over 10 years’ experience working in arts administration. Her experience includes art galleries, art fairs, artist representation, and nonprofit arts organizations. Art Practical and SFAQ featured her art writing. She sat on the board of the Museum of Craft and Folk Art in San Francisco CA. She sits on the board of the Fralin Museum of Art at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA. She is a member of the Art Society at the North Carolina Museum of Art, Raleigh, NC.
