A great deal of Caprice’s work is inspired by her love of flowers and gardens. While she enjoys the abundance of flora in spring, Caprice enjoys her gardens most in winter because she is able to study the underlying structures that give way to bloom. She takes in nature’s organic shapes and the ways in which light and shadows transform them. These moments of reflection, which she brings with her to the easel, are when she feels closest to God. For Caprice, there is no craft without spirituality. It influences all aspects of her creative process.
