A child of the 80s, I am part artist, part designer. My style is bold, playful and alive. I work primarily with layers of acrylic paint, handmade paper and drawing scraps. My paintings often compose themselves spontaneously as I am constantly experimenting with layers of uncomfortable color combinations, abstract shapes and textures. I hope that my art reminds others to not take life too seriously and to embrace your inner (wild) child.
Building upon a lifetime passion of painting and design, Jen Matthews is an advertising Design Director residing in Raleigh, NC. She has created award-winning advertising and branding for global brands, but is constantly drawn back to having a paintbrush in hand and letting intuition take over. Jen is fascinated by the human psyche, has a special place in her heart for the 80s, and loves to bring joy to others through her work.
